Noosa Festival of Surfing: Shreds into it's 27th Year of Competition, Entertainment & Stoke

Noosa Festival of Surfing shreds from March 10-17th.
The event is 8-days of pure stoke, the most inclusive surfing festival in the world, with everything from handboard and SUP competitions, to family challenges and even dog surfing!
If water sports aren't your thing, there's plenty of action out of the water. With a killer line up of entertainment and activities, including live music galore.
Last year boasted 900 entrants into various competitions, representing over 20 different countries. Slyde Handboards is stoked to have team riders Daniel Carr of Australia and Keali'i Punley of Hawaii showcasing their skills.
This will be Daniel Carr's aka @Captain_Kookman 2nd time competing at Noosa Festival and Keali'i's 1st appearance in Australia. Another first will be, the team riders will be taking over Slyde's FB feed for live behind the scenes action and coverage.
We caught up with Daniel Carr to find out what makes Noosa Festival a must attend event and why he's personally looking forward to it.
"Noosa’s is a renowned long boarding type wave, so it’s more about the vibe of the festival, all walks of life and taking advantage of catching up with fellow bodysurfers. I’m less worried about results from the Noosa Festival, but praying for waves to really showcase the sport. It will be a great weekend to get away, share some laughs and catch up with friends. This year being a kid free get away for myself and Lauren."
While 1st time attendee Keali'i said the 3 things he's most looking forward at the festival to are:
- Getting bodysurfers together and meeting everyone, including kangaroos if they happen to be around.
- Good waves (clean, sizable, consistent)
- Water water
